August 7, 1999

On August 7, I hired a taxi to take me to St. Mark's Cathedral.  St. Mark's Cathedral is the Papal Seat of His Holiness, Pope Shenouda III, Successor of Saint Mark.  The Cathedral has some of the relics of St. Mark, which were returned to the Coptics 25 years ago.

After returning to my hotel, I walked through Maadi to the Coptic Catholic Seminary. I was not impressed with the building, but I decided to take a picture of the building across the street from the seminary (to get a "street scene" from Cairo).
